Joking aside, what jobs do Associate lawyers in BigLaw have to do? Is there a hierarchy of duties that are assigned on the basis of seniority? I much prefer doing everything myself. At least, I get to choose what I do. Are your required to perform tasks that you don’t want to do? You do get to choose how you practice law. I suppose it comes down to money; but, over the decades, I have come to realize that money and salary are overrated predictors of happiness.
