Police on Thursday said that a man suspected in the shooting death of an Oceanside woman was located in Mexico and brought back to San Diego County.

Vicente Huerta, 25, was arrested on Aug. 11 and booked into San Diego County Jail on suspicion of first-degree murder, felony possession of a firearm and other charges. He is not eligible for bail.

Just before noon on June 4, Oceanside police officers responded to a call for medical aid at the corner of Bush and Archer streets. Police found that the victim, Chelsea Pacheco, 22, had suffered a gunshot wound to her upper body and was not breathing.

Upon further investigation, police learned that Pacheco was riding in a car with friends who became involved in an argument with Huerta, an alleged Oceanside gang member, who shot at the vehicle.

One of the rounds went through the rear of the car and struck Pacheco, who doctors pronounced dead at Tri-City Medical Center.
