Study Data Shows Vaping Poses a Fraction of the Risk of Smoking

[ad_1]

A study commissioned originally by Public Health England and now by the Office for Health Improvement and Disparities showed that vaping poses a fraction of the risks of smoking and is at least 95% less harmful than smoking.

Dr. Brian King, FDA’s Director of the Agency’s Center for Tobacco Products echoed the same in an interview with the Associated Press last week. “We do know that e-cigarettes — as a general class — have markedly less risk than a combustible cigarette product.”

The study does note that the evidence relied upon was limited to short and medium term studies and that longer term vaping studies are necessary. Still, the study results are a high note for an industry that has seen increasing scrutiny from FDA.
