A man riding a Harley-Davidson motorcycle died and a Toyota Prius driver was hospitalized Friday in a crash in downtown San Diego.
The 32-year-old Harley rider was traveling north at high speed on 1st Avenue and broadsided the Prius after failing to stop for a red light on Ash Street around 2 a.m., according to the San Diego Police Department.
The motorcycle rider was pronounced dead at the scene. The 38-year-old Prius driver was transported to a hospital suffering minor injuries.
The names of the two victims were not immediately released.
Police were investigating the accident, but said that alcohol was not a factor.
