San Diego County Health Officials Report 679 New COVID-19 Cases, 5 Deaths

San Diego County’s Health and Human Services Agency reported 679 new COVID-19 cases and five deaths Monday, increasing cumulative totals to 895,372 cases and 5,429 deaths.

Another 816 virus cases were confirmed Sunday, along with 1,164 Saturday and 1,289 Friday, health officials reported.

The number of people hospitalized with a coronavirus infection stands at 374, according to the latest state data, down from a summer peak of 465 on July 22. 

More than 3 million or 89.9% of San Diegans age 6 months and older are at least partially vaccinated, while 2.65 million or 79.4% are fully vaccinated. A total of 1,424,581 or 58.5% of 2,425,587 eligible San Diegans have received a booster.
