Rescuers Cut Open Toyota to Reach Woman with Major Injuries After East County Wreck

A woman suffered major injuries Saturday when a Chevrolet slammed into her Toyota in unincorporated El Cajon.

The female driver of the Toyota had tried to turn from eastbound Jamacha Road onto a private road when she was hit by a female driver in the other vehicle at 11:55 a.m., according to OnScene.TV.

The impact flipped the Toyota, trapping the driver. It took approximately 30 minutes to cut the roof from the Toyota to extricate the injured woman.

She was transported to Sharp Memorial Hospital, according to San Miguel Fire and Rescue.

One of the three people in the Chevrolet was transported to a local hospital with an unknown injuries. The other two refused to be transported despite recommendations from the paramedics.
