Police and Sheriff’s negotiators continued to maintain watch Sunday as a man apparently armed with a gun holed up in a restroom at the National City Golf Course.

National City police responded to the 10 a.m. call, according to OnScene.TV. SWAT officers soon joined them, along with a San Diego County Sheriff’s negotiation team.

As of 4:30 pm, the suspect was still inside the men’s restroom.

Authorities believe the man passed out. Robot cameras showed him lying on the bathroom floor, OnScene reported, and SWAT plans to wait for him to come out rather than enter the restroom.

The suspect, believed to be known to the police, is a transient and is considered armed and dangerous.

Police evacuated the golf course.
