A pedestrian suffered serious injuries when he was struck by a vehicle in Logan Heights on Sunday night.

The crash occurred at 9:45 p.m. at 31st Street and National Avenue, according to San Diego Police Officer John Buttle.

The 27-year-old woman driving the vehicle westbound on National Avenue told police she did not see the 57-year-old man before her vehicle struck him, Buttle said.

The evidence indicated the man was walking southbound in the east crosswalk, the officer said.

The man was hospitalized with multiple skull fractures, trauma to his spleen and a fractured pelvis, Buttle said. Those injuries were not considered life-threatening.

The crash remained under investigation, he said.
