A predawn hit-and-run fatally injured an unidentified pedestrian Tuesday on state Route 94 in the Mount Hope area, authorities said.

The pedestrian, described only as male, was walking on the eastbound side of the freeway near Federal Boulevard when a vehicle of unknown make and model hit him shortly before 1 a.m., according to the California Highway Patrol.
