Passengers, Motorists Safe After Emergency Landing by Plane on San Marcos Street

A small aircraft made an emergency landing Saturday at an intersection in San Marcos.

The plane near South Rancho Santa Fe Road and Melrose Drive at around 6:15 p.m., both the San Diego County Sheriff’s Department and San Marcos Fire Department tweeted.

The fire department later amended the exact location to Meadowlark Ranch and Boulderidge Drive.

All the passengers in the plane and a car the aircraft hit were evacuated safely and being treated for minor injuries, the Sheriff’s department reported.

The intersection was temporarily closed, according to the sheriff’s department.
