The VikingsTerritory collective staff prediction for the Minnesota Vikings date with the Green Bay Packers is ready.

Minnesota can hit 1-0 with a win over Green Bay, getting the Kevin O’Connell era off to a fancy start. The Packers are navigating life without wideout Davante Adams for the first time since 2013, as the All-Pro pass-catcher was traded to the Las Vegas Raiders in March. Replacing Adams, Green Bay enlists an assortment of lesser-tier WRs like Sammy Watkins, Allen Lazard, Randall Cobb, Romeo Doubs, and Christian Watson.

The writers at VikingsTerritory predict the Vikings will win their opening game of 2022.

All but two of our contributors picked Minnesota over Green Bay, with Janik Eckardt and Kyle Joudry as the lone naysayers.

Here’s how the panel sees the score for Week 1:

Mathematically en masse, we predict the Vikings top the Packers by a score of 27-24.

Following this contest, we’ll track each writer’s “win-loss” record in predicting the 2022 Vikings. Last year, Kyle Joudry most accurately forecasted the Vikings, finishing 14-3 with his weekly predictions.

The Vikings are currently 1.5-point underdogs to defeat the Packers in Minneapolis on Sunday. Minnesota is 34-26-1 (.566) all-time in Week 1 games.
