Old Cars We’d Buy That: 1954 Hudson Jet

We'd Buy That
Hudson-5

What the heck???!! A 1954 Hudson Jet? We can’t remember the last time we saw one of these in the flesh. We’d love to know how many of these unusual early compact cars are left, and it’s a good bet not many of them are cuter or more appealing than this neat green-and-white example for sale in New Braunfels, Texas. The Craigslist ad says somebody spent more than $20,000 to restore it, which makes the $18,000 asking price seem reasonable. The seller also says insurance is only about $300 a year, so this would be a great budget hobby car for somebody, not to mention a cool addition to any collection.
