In this episode, Alay and Josh discuss:

  • How Mighty is changing the industry of personal injury law.
  • Why personal injury clients are not being well served.
  • The lack of competition in personal injury in traditional business ways.
  • Disrupting the practice area of personal injury.

Key Takeaways:

  • When people are injured, they deserve fast and fair medical help.
  • In personal injury, the only competition is who can scream the loudest on billboards and who can acquire clients for the least amount of money.
  • You don’t need a lawyer with ridiculous marketing to achieve the outcomes that you want from your case.
  • Transparency, quality, and price all matter when looking at your personal injury lawyer.

Tweetable Moments:

  • “Ultimately, the reason that we do what we do, is we want to affect change in the personal injury space.” —  Josh Schwadron
  • “We are making the bet, and it is a bold bet, that we can convince clients that prices matter, that the service quality and depth that they’re getting matters, that transparency matters, and that we will be able to acquire customers at a lower cost than our traditional personal injury competitors.” —  Josh Schwadron
  • “I love the disruptive angle you’re taking here. It’s very strategic. It’s very mission-driven. It’s very notable.” —  Alay Yajnik
  • “Most of the personal injury law firms that I know do amazing work for their clients. But obviously, there are some actors in there that don’t. And I’m glad that you’re looking to revolutionize the industry there.” —  Alay Yajnik

About Josh Schwadron:

Joshua Schwadron is the CEO and Founder of Mighty, a legal tech startup that is fixing the personal injury system by helping people injured in an accident get the help they need to recover legally, physically, mentally and financially by putting their interests first. When he first began his career in PI, he was shocked by the lack of support given to those injured (especially given that 56% of Americans can’t come up with more than $1,000 in an emergency) in accidents – and the inequitable amount of money that flooded the pockets of the billboard lawyers meant to serve them. He found that stark disparity abhorrent, and it motivated him to come up with a fairer, more just alternative. That alternative is Mighty. For Josh, the opportunity to not only fix a broken system but to genuinely help the most underserved and marginalized members of American society get back to normal after such a critically difficult moment in their lives is what inspires him to continue the fight against this industry that has been so resistant to change over the last five decades.
