Online fast fashion retailer Missguided has changed its official company name after it was rescued by Frasers Group in a £20m deal at the start of last month.

The Manchester-based company will officially be known as MGL Realisations (2022) Limited, according to documents filed with Companies House this week, but the business will continue to trade as Missguided.

The name change comes after the firm collapsed into administration in May, appointing Teneo as administrator after it failed to finalise a rescue deal.

Frasers Group then acquired the business for £20 million in early June, beating off rival Boohoo.

The move comes after founder Nitin Passi returned as the retailer’s CEO following its rescue.

Passi founded the company in 2009 and originally announced in April 2022 that it was time for him to step down from his “day-to-day leadership” as the business “explores strategic partnership options” before its administration filing.

But last month Frasers announced a surprise comeback after it took control with Passi reinstalled as Missguided CEO.

Passi said at the time: “Frasers Group has an unrivalled platform and fantastic operational know-how, giving Missguided a solid foundation on which we can build a successful future. I am acutely aware of the impact Missguided’s administration has had on our stakeholders and I am committed to rebuilding their trust.”

Frasers chief exeucitve Michael Murray commented last month: “We are delighted to secure a long-term future for Missguided, which will benefit from the strength and scale of Frasers Group’s platform and our operational excellence. Missguided’s digital-first approach to the latest trends in women’s fashion will bring additional expertise to the wider Frasers Group.”
