Meet and Duo Have Merged, According to Google

[ad_1]

Meet and Duo will be integrated, according to Google. GSM Arena reports that Google will begin integrating all Meet features into the Duo app “in the coming weeks.”

Later this year, the Duo app will be renamed Google Meet, making Meet the company’s primary video communications tool. Google’s multiple messaging-related apps have been launched, shelved, re-launched, re-branded, re-shelved, re-resurrected, and merged so many times that it’s practically become a meme.

Because there won’t be another app to download, Duo’s existing video calling features will be preserved. Your conversation history, contacts, and messages will be safe if you’re a Duo user.

According to GSM Arena, new features include customizable virtual backgrounds in calls and meetings, meeting scheduling, in-meeting chat, live content sharing, real-time closed captions, video calls with up to 100 participants, enhanced video and audio experiences with noise cancellation, and integration with other Google tools such as Gmail, Calendar, Assistant, and Messages.

According to the post, if you’re already using Duo or Meet for free, you won’t have to pay anything for “the new experience,” according to the post.
