Madden 23 Unveils Full Minnesota Vikings Ratings

With Madden 23 set to debut on Friday, August 19, 2022, we are closer to getting our hands on the latest release. New head coach Kevin O’Connell is looking to make noise with this team in the NFC North, and now we have an idea of how the game sees the talent.

Each season the EA Sports Madden franchise puts out the sole simulation football game for video game fans. There’s no other avenue to get in the huddle and live out your National Football League dreams. While tweaks year-over-year can sometimes leave something to be desired, pouring over how your favorite players are viewed by the game will always be a blast.

No longer within the Ratings Reveal Week where just the top performers are showcased, we now have a look at the full Vikings roster. Here are some of the highlights:

Best of the Best

3rd Injury in 2 Days Ripples through Vikings Training Camp

  • Dalvin Cook = 94
  • Justin Jefferson = 93
  • Harrison Smith = 90

The Minnesota Vikings land just three players above the 90 overall threshold, but each ranks among the top 10 at their specific position. Cook and Smith felt right among their peers, but Jefferson’s emergence suggested he should be a top three wideout in the game. I suppose this gives him room to grow and substantiate his 2021 performance. Fellow wide receiver Adam Thielen just missed at 88 overall.

A Ridiculous Front

  • Danielle Hunter = 88
  • Eric Kendricks = 88
  • Za’Darius Smith = 86

It’s not really a matter of if the Vikings edge rushers will be good as much as it is if they’ll be healthy. Hunter and Smith will be a problem coming off the edges, and Kendricks up the middle presents a problem for opposing quarterbacks to keep an eye on as well.

Under Center

  • Kirk Cousins = 80
  • Kellen Mond = 64
  • Sean Mannion = 52

Guess that decides who should be the backup quarterback, then, doesn’t it? In all reality, this is the year Mond has to get it right. If the former third-round pick isn’t asserting himself now, he never will. It will be interesting to see where Cousins’ rating goes if he can come out like he did last season.

The Rookies

  • Lewis Cine = 75
  • Andrew Booth Jr. = 73
  • Ed Ingram = 69
  • Akayleb Evans = 68
  • Brian Asamoah = 68
  • Jalen Nailor = 67
  • Ty Chandler = 66

Nice to see Cine get a usable number here. He should be a nice piece to build around alongside Smith in the secondary. Known as more of a hitter, it will be interesting to see how his secondary attributes are handled in-game. Booth Jr. is seen as a potential starter, so the higher rating here helps too. Chandler is probably destined for the practice squad, but it wouldn’t be shocking if Nailor made the 53-man roster.
