Liberty has revealed that its buying director Sarah Coonan to managing director of retail with immediate effect.

Coonan has served as buying director at Liberty since July 2018. Prior to this, she was Head of Buying for Beauty, Home & Little Liberty.

Coonan also previously worked at Harrods as an assistant buyer.

“So excited and proud to take on a new role in a business I love. Last week I was promoted to managing director of retail at Liberty,” Coonan said on her LinkedIn.

Last month, Liberty announced the appointment of Rhea Cartwright as its new Head of Beauty Buying in what was described as an “exciting shift in strategy for the ever-evolving market”.

The appointment comes after the luxury department store chain hired journalist Sophie Beresiner in the newly-created role of global head of content.

Beresiner will oversee the department store retailer’s creative production, editorial and social media teams.
