FCC Releases Waiver, Reduction, Deferral, and Installment Payment Requests for Collection of Regulatory Fees

The FCC has released procedures for waiver, reduction, deferral, and installment payment requests for its annual collection of regulatory fees, which continue to the include temporary relief measures adopted during the COVID-19 pandemic for collection of regulatory fees in FY 2020 and FY 2021.  Fees must be paid in full and received by the FCC by 11:59 PM ET on Sept. 28, 2022, and late fee payments have a penalty of 25 percent.

However, in order to accommodate regulatees facing financial hardship or another ground for modification of fee collection, the FCC may waive, reduce, or defer fees.  Waivers or reduction of regulatory fee payments due to financial hardship must be filed on or before Sept. 28, 2022, along with payment in full or documentation demonstrating financial hardship.  Requests for installment payment must be received before Sept. 28, 2022, along with supporting financial documentation.
