FCA publishes update on debt packager proposals

[ad_1]

On 5 December 2022, the FCA published an update on debt packager proposals.

The update states that in November 2021, the FCA consulted on new rules to ban debt packagers from receiving fees or other remuneration for referrals to debt solution providers. Following analysis of the feedback received, the FCA decided to gather some additional evidence from the debt packager market to supplement their existing evidence base.

The update goes on to explain that, following the completion of this work, the FCA will set out their proposed next steps, seeking feedback in a further 4-week consultation which will be published early in 2023.
