It’s been a busy fall for canine flu. We’ve started tracking canine influenza cases to have a better idea of its spread and to help with risk assessment and vaccination decisions (although vaccine shortages have been an issue).
A preliminary interactive map is available here.
More data are hopefully coming so the map should be more detailed in the near future. Veterinarians can quickly submit info (just number of cases and location) here.
Our case definition for confirmed canine influenza reports:
- Laboratory diagnosis of canine influenza
- OR
- Respiratory disease in a dog that has had direct contact with a laboratory confirmed case of canine influenza
