Manatee County – Florida Highway Patrol has announced that a man is in critical condition after being hit by an automobile in Manatee County Sunday afternoon.
According to the report by FHP, the fatal accident began as an unknown vehicle was traveling north on 301 Boulevard East, west of 9th Street East.
As the vehicle continued northbound, a 30-year-old man from Bradenton, Florida was crossing the travel lanes on 301 Boulevard East, west of the intersection of 9th Street East.
At 2:25:00 AM, the pedestrian entered the path of the oncoming vehicle and the vehicle failed to avoid a crash. The vehicle collided with the pedestrian at speed. After the collision, the injured pedestrian came to rest on 301 Boulevard East and was transported to an area hospital in critical condition.
The unknown vehicle fled the scene of the crash and remains unknown.
Anyone with information regarding this accident is asked to contact the Florida Highway Patrol or Bradenton Crimestoppers.
FHP has stated that the crash remains under investigation.
