Attorney Peter J. Maher at SEEK


Shipman & Goodwin attorney and partner, Peter J. Maher will be featured on a panel at the Special Education Equity for Kids of Connecticut (or SEEK) conference on October 22, 2022. This morning panel will have a vibrant discussion around The State of Special Education in Connecticut.

As a lawyer, Peter advises school leaders and special education administrators on their legal obligations under the Individuals with Disabilities Education Act and Section 504 of the Rehabilitation Act, among other laws and regulations. His experience as a special education teacher and mentor for new teachers, as well as his knowledge of research-based practices in the delivery of special education programming makes him uniquely positioned to bring a thoughtful voice to this remarkable event.
