Hershey, PA – To commemorate the anniversary of Preston Tucker’s “Car of Tomorrow,” the Tucker ’48, the AACA Museum, Inc. and the Tucker Automobile Club of America will host a national celebration June 16-17, 2023. Already home to the world’s most extensive Tucker collection, the museum will welcome numerous additional Tucker ‘48s from around the country for this exclusive short-term exhibit. In addition, the museum will open the Cammack Tucker Historical Research Center, which houses and provides access to the Tucker Automobile Archives.
“We are thrilled to honor Preston Tucker’s vision, determination, and achievements in the automobile industry,” said Mark Lieberman, Tucker Club Senior Director and AACA Museum, Inc. Board Member. “This celebration will bring together Tucker owners, historians, experts, family, and enthusiasts. We will provide guests exclusive access to presentations and insights about the development and production of the Tucker ’48 rarely ever seen. Already, the museum can announce we’ll have at least nine Tucker ‘48s on-site for this historic event.”
Slated events for the Tucker ‘48 anniversary celebration include:
Friday, June 16 – “Tucker: The Man and His Dream” movie screening with commentary and Q&A; VIP/owners reception with ribbon cutting of Cammack Tucker Historical Research Center; “Toast to Tucker” Gala with special guest speaker, live music, silent and live auctions with rare Tucker memorabilia; the launch of the Tucker Hall of Fame.
Saturday, June 17 – Tucker ‘48 parade at the museum’s Bill Smith Memorial Cruise In with special photo opportunities. O-site presentations by Tucker historians and family members; expanded Tucker exhibit and introduction the Cammack Tucker Historical Research Center.
“This milestone is cause for celebration for motoring enthusiasts and anyone who dares to dream big,” says Larry Clark, Tucker Historian. “Preston Tucker, for cars, was the disruptive, visionary equivalent of Steve Jobs and Apple or Elon Musk and Tesla. He set out to revolutionize the automobile industry and was an amazing entrepreneur for his vision of what the American car could and should be for the American consumer. Event attendees will leave inspired.”
The AACA Museum, Inc. Cammack Tucker Gallery is home to the world’s most extensive Tucker collection, with Tucker cars #1001, #1022 and #1026 on display, along with the factory test chassis and Tucker engines. The gallery, named for Tucker historian and collector David Cammack, includes an interactive exhibit chronicling Preston Tucker’s “Car of Tomorrow” and a fiberglass Tucker reproduction car from the movie “Tucker: The Man and His Dream.”
